Cvent CONNECT 2026...

If you were at Cvent CONNECT 2026, then you probably stopped by for a drink at The Truss Bar. If you were supporting France or England, then you probably experienced a bit of heartbreak watching the World Cup. But if you were anyone else, the bar was full of energy, laughter, and positive connections (lots of them).

What is an Activation?

An activation is a designed experience that encourages attendees to interact with an event, sponsor, or company. It could be a lounge, game, product demo, photo booth, speakeasy, or interactive display. The format can change, but the goal stays the same: grab attention and create connections.

How Clarity Experiences Defines Activations

At Clarity, we see brand activations as the big moments that happen away from the main stages. It’s the experience that reflects the company’s personality, message, and goals. It truly is one of your biggest shots of sharing the story of your company without presenting it on stage.

Good Activations Can Be Successful, but What Makes A Good Activation Work?

A great activation starts with a clear idea. Pretty lighting helps, but every element needs a purpose. Here’s how Clarity took an idea and turned it into something memorable for attendees.

The Truss Rooftopbar: From Idea to Experience

aerialview_truss_barFor the Truss, we wanted to bring the electric bar scene of Nashville into the exhibition halls of Cvent CONNECT 2026. With Cvent bringing the event industry to Music City, we asked ourselves a simple question: “What kind of space would attendees genuinely want to visit?”

So, the idea of a rooftop bar felt right.

We took the building blocks of event production, including truss, lighting, screens, scenic design, and content, and turned them into the identity of the activation. The name gave us a clever connection to the AV world while still sounding like a rooftop spot you might stumble across downtown. A little production wordplay never hurt.

The Truss was squeezed into a 20x30 space with an elevated deck to enhance the look and feel, brick perimeter walls, illuminated steps, overhead string lights, and plants with colorful uplighting. Lounge furniture, and small tables created plenty of comfortable places to gather and create connections.

Aside from the base build and furniture, we included three LED TVs (one centered behind the bar and two rigged to the truss) with the intention to allow attendees to watch the World Cup game. We also included a jukebox, which we named TrussTunes, along with a spinning prize wheel to help attendees engage more with our activations.

The concept of The Truss felt so real that it followed us outside the convention center. People on Broadway in Nashville asked where they could find the actual bar while attendees and our team were wearing Truss Bar shirts. That reaction said a lot. The name, branding, merch, and environment worked together so well that people immediately felt immersed into the idea.

Why The Truss Bar Worked So Well

From the aisle, The Truss Bar was hard to miss. From the overhead string lighting to the TVs playing the World Cup with people packed in within every square inch, the Truss worked well because it was full of life and energy. When people weren’t watching the TVs, they were spinning the wheel next to the bar and winning prizes or unofficially getting banned (if you know you know).

Once attendees stepped inside, there was a reason to stay. They could play a song at the TrussTunes, grab a drink, play a game, or start a conversation. The Truss created a natural environment where people felt comfortable enough to relax and learn more about Clarity or the other attendees at Cvent CONNECT 2026.

The experience also showed what Clarity does best. Creative strategy, scenic design, AV technology, content, and hospitality all worked together. That’s how a good activation supports brand awareness. People remember the connections they made and how a brand made them feel. The Truss fostered that environment and felt welcoming, social, and unmistakably Nashville.

Final Thoughts

Exhibit halls are full of ideas. The best brand activations make attendees stop and think, “We should do something like this.”

They create excitement during the event while giving planners, marketers, and sponsors inspiration they can take back to their own teams. When an activation fits the audience, location, and brand, it becomes one of the moments people keep talking about after the show ends.

The Truss proved that standing out does not always require shouting louder. Sometimes, you just need the right idea, the right environment, and a really good place to hang out.
